School of Law – Professor Tamara Hervey

Tamara Hervey is a Professor of European Union Law in the School of Law.

Tamara has taught in the areas in which she researches for over 25 years and her students learn from the latest research, some of which is her own. For instance EU Health Law is based around Hervey, Young and Bishop’s Research Handbook in EU Health Law (EE 2017).

Her main research interests are in Transnational, global and comparative health law and Equality and Diversity. Following the 23 June 2016 referendum, Tamara is contributing to understanding the UK’s future legal relationships with the EU, in particular its implications for health law and policy, both within the UK and within the remainder of the EU. She is working with Jean McHale and Mark Flear on an ESRC Brexit priority grant. She is also a Special Adviser to the House of Commons Health Committee.
